BioBorn to incredulous parents, I was a strange, obnoxious child, given to fits of melancholia and sudden dancing to the soundtrack of "Grease." My early years were marked by an unhealthy, excessive love of the written word, as several traumatized grade-school librarians will attest. This bibliomania would later be joined by an almost equal demented passion for music, though not, as God is merciful, as a performer.
